    A Note from Tom:
I was brought up on the Farm (Pot House Mill Farm) and was thus engaged in its many activities from an early age. Although my father’s main interest was in farming, he encouraged my wish to develop the horticultural and rose growing aspects of the business. When I was twelve years old he bought me 1000 rose bushes and with his help and guidance in cultivation and propagation I had increased my stock to 50000 within a few years. In the time that followed I was very much a rose specialist and very enthusiastically involved in producing new varieties and exhibiting at all the major shows and won many awards.

As I took over the task of running the farm I expanded the nursery, increasing enormously the range of plants, trees, and shrubs under cultivation. I now grow almost everything a gardener would need. Building work was necessary, not only to accommodate the expanding volume of products and ever increasing number of customers, but also enhance the natural beauty of the site.

Today the farming and nursery activities run side by side and compliment each other. I am proud to say that owing to the hard work and efforts of my family the birth of Pot House Hamlet has been possible, which is now a very productive place, and there is still plenty of potential for more interesting developments in the future. I am very lucky to have my wife, my three daughters and my son working around me on site at Pot House Hamlet. I look forward to you visiting soon.
